President’s Message

Alpha Kappa Alpha was founded 99 years ago in 1908, at Howard University. We have continued to touch the lives of many people 60 years ago, Delta Rho Omega Chapter was founded in Brooklyn, New York. The members of Delta Rho Omega have provided leadership and service to the Brooklyn area. Our Chapter has been positively impacting the lives of our youth and families, since chartered in 1947.

As we celebrate our 60 years, we continue to embrace each endeavor as we hold true to our sorority motto "Service to all Mankind". Our membership comprises leadership roles in education, business, medicine politics, law, and public service.

It is through the support and generosity of the community that Delta Rho Omega is able to provide renewable scholarships, as well as positively impact the lives of our youth and families in the Brooklyn area and beyond.

In spirit of Alpha Kappa Alpha, we have continued to support our tradition of service. The Ivy Academy program, supports the development of reading and math skills for students from Kindergarten through 6th grade. Through this program we have been able to enhance the test scores, from the participants. This has become a signature program of  Delta Rho Omega. Since the onset of the program, Delta Rho Omega has worked with over 75 youths in the Brownsville and Bedford Stuyvesant community.

It is the goal of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc to continue to develop leaders, and support our national Platforms. Our goals are high, our efforts are united, and we strive untiringly to meet the demands of the 21st century and render service to all mankind.
